Machine Base The HD machine base is fabricated from heavy-duty tubular steel with welded and stress relieved joints, and precision ground mounting surfaces. A combination of mass, rigidity and construction quality that insures minimal deflection, effective vibration damping and dimensional stability over the operational life of the machine. |

Gantry Assembly Featuring a combination of steel and cast iron construction with heavy duty gusseted reinforcement, the HD gantry assembly provides highly rigid structural and jointed conditions that translate into minium minimum deflection and effective vibration damping. |

THK Linear Bearings The HD features THK caged ball linear bearing and rails on all three system axes. THK bearings are renowned for superior rigidity, low friction and wear, and significantly reduced rolling resistance versus conventional linear bearing technology. |

Atlanta Rack & Pinion The HD features hardened and ground linear actuators from Atlanta Drive Systems, a world leader in rack and pinion technology. Zero backlash is achieved by means of a dual-pinion arrangement, providing precise positioning & repeatability. Positioning accuracy is maintained during acceleration & deceleration, as well as for travel reversals. Raw material selection, machining, heat treating, grinding and process control are subject to strict ISO standards.

Alignment
The HDS near perfect system alignment is the by-product of
single setup 5-axis machining accuracy.
Drive train mounting surfaces are machined in a single operation
based on the same
zero or datum reference point. Resulting in rail and rack mounting
surface straightness, levelness and parallelism within (.001) of an
inch. |

DSP Micro-Step Control The cornerstone of the HD is a state-of-the-art DSP micro step controller, matched perfectly to the inertial characteristics of the system mechanics. DSP (digital signal processing) is the most advanced microprocessor type used in motion control. It allows the processing of digital signals at very high speeds, many times faster than some of the fastest PC processors. |

HD Hand-Held Control The HD Hand-Held Control (operator-machine interface) allows the freedom to move around the machine during setup and operation while providing complete control of all machine functions through easy-to-read and understand menus on a LCD touch screen monitor. |

Biesse HSD Spindle - (5) Horsepower Biesse HSD has a worldwide reputation for spindle designs that are extremely reliable and deliver extended life even in the harshest of environments. HSD spindles features labyrinth sealing and are manufactured in accordance with ISO standards. |

HD Touch Pad The main difficulty with changing tools on spindles is adjusting the length of the new tool to match the previous tool so that the toolpath can continue at the correct height of machining. The touch pad accomplishes the task, with precision, at the touch of a button. |

Vacuum Plenum The vacuum plenum surface is multi-zoned which allows the operator to easily switch from full sheet processing to smaller part processing, .Zones can be turned on/off easily via control valves on the front of the machine. Systems also available with T-Slot surface. |
